I guess that explains part of the demise of her ownership of the Dyaspora Salon. As I am allergic to gluten, I was looking for a gluten free cookbook. The book is very comprehensive and descriptive of the V&t history. Enjoyable read.. I guess they never came across a dark-skinned African American woman in NYC with wavy hair. If you need a substantive book on caring for natural or textured hair, this is not it. Ioverlooked her quite demeanor and the big wrinkle across her forehead when she saw me approaching her with my huge Angela Davis Afro. The author also explains the diet that you should concentrate on such as the vegetables and fruits and you will surely enjoy this diet. I don't care if she is a goat roper or a PHD, I just want someone honest. The author well describes this in the harrowing tale of CSA President Davis and his family evacuating Richmond in 1865. The concepts and strategies that are fresh, interesting and effective.. I give this book and author six stars and a must read for anyone - smoker, non-smoker, or a would be newbie smoker!!
